Our History
1993–1994

How It Began
A group of pediatricians, psychologists, and educators asked what no one was asking loudly enough. On November 23, 1994, the Philippine Association for the Gifted, Inc. was formally established.
1995

Going Public
PAG launched on March 15 at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel. First office opened at UP-PGH. Founding directors represented PAG at the World Congress on the Gifted in Hong Kong.
1998

Parents Join the Cause
The Parents’ Support Group was established, bringing parents in as the fourth pillar of PAG.
2000

A First of Its Kind
PAG mounted the Gifted Unlimited Exhibit at Museo Pambata — the first of its kind in the country.
2002–2010

Deepening the Conversation
Annual conventions tackled complex themes. The PSG expanded with chess, robotics, and parent counseling. PAG drew distinguished speakers and grew its national reach.
2011–2020

Keeping the Doors Open
Through years of transition, Dr. Carmencita Padilla and Ms. Delila “Niña” Lojo held PAG together and kept the name alive.
2021–2025

The SMART Legacy
PAG re-emerged with the SMART Legacy Framework, culminating in the 2025 National Conference and the launch of the SMART Playbook Toolkit.
2026

A New Chapter
A renewed board, active membership, and a continuing mission to nurture gifted minds for the nation.
